APAICS Congratulates Former Fellow Nisha Ramachandran on New Role as CAPAC Executive Director

WASHINGTON - Today, Nisha Ramachandran assumed the position as the executive director of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), becoming the first South Asian to serve in the role. Ramachandran served as an APAICS Fellow in the office of CAPAC member Congressman Ami Bera.

APAICS president and CEO Madalene Xuan-Trang Mielke gave the following statement:

“Nisha has nearly a decade of experience working with the Asian American and Pacific Islander community, including with her start as an APAICS Congressional Fellow and later as a consultant with our organization. We are so proud of her accomplishments since, and are thrilled to congratulate and welcome Nisha as the executive director of CAPAC.

“APAICS works closely with CAPAC to increase AAPI representation and voices in Congress, including advocating for AAPIs. The past year has been difficult for our community, and we feel more than assured knowing that Nisha will be at the helm of our sister organization, leading CAPAC with knowledge, efficiency and empathy.”
