
Congressional Internship

Overview
The Congressional Internship is designed for AA & NH/PI undergraduate aged students looking to increase their experience in public policy and service. The paid, eight-week long program places interns in congressional offices and provides them with the opportunity to develop their leadership and professional skills, encourages political engagement, and fosters interests in public service careers.

Location: Washington, D.C.
Applications are now open for our Summer Congressional Internship program, which will be an in-person internship hosted in partnership with the United Parcel Service (UPS). Our Summer 2023 internship cohort will have the opportunity to gain working experience in a congressional office and in UPS’ Washington, D.C. office. Interns will work in UPS’ office 1 day per week and in a congressional office the remaining days of the week.

Selection Process
The APAICS Congressional Internship Program is a highly competitive program. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee made up of program alumni, staff, and board members. Top candidates receive an invitation to interview. Applications are scored based on evidence of leadership and leadership potential, including community involvement, commitment to public service, and ability to challenge self.
