About Our Annual APAICS Awards Gala

The APAICS Annual Awards Gala Dinner is the culmination of our nation’s recognition of Asian American & Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May, a celebration of the culture, traditions, history, and contributions of AA & NH/PIs in the United States. We expect more than 1,000 attendees from across the country, including community, business, and political leaders.

The gala is the largest gathering of AA & NH/PI elected officials and government appointees at the federal, state, and local levels. Past speakers and awardees at the dinner include President Barack Obama, President Bill Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary Hillary Clinton, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Senator Mazie Hirono, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, Martha Choe, Deepa Iyer, George Takei, Daniel Dae Kim, and Randall Park, among others.

Stay tuned to our website as we release more information on our performance lineup, keynote speakers, and silent auction!

NOTE: For Gala Attendance, proof of full vaccination will be required to attend without exception.

2021 Gala

APAICS hosted our 27th Annual Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday, May 13th, 2021. Due to the current conditions of the global pandemic, the event was virtual once again.

The year’s theme was AA NHPIs Rising to the Challenge. While many of us faced obstacles of our own in the year 2020, 2021 showcased how our community is rising to overcome these hurdles.
