APAICS Praises Groundbreaking Appointment of Gautam Raghavan as First Asian American Presidential Personnel Office Director


WASHINGTON - Last week, President Biden announced the appointment of Gautam Raghavan as the newest Director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. He will be the first AAPI in history to serve in this prestigious position within the White House.


“We commend the Biden-Harris administration on Gautam Raghavan’s groundbreaking appointment to this influential position,” said Madalene Xuan-Trang Mielke, APAICS president and CEO. This appointment will give Asian American & Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders substantial representation and an advocate at the highest levels of personnel selection throughout the entire administration.


“While this is a major step for our community, we know that there is significant work to be done, and we have full confidence in the newest leader of the Office of Presidential Personnel.”
