How To: Empower AAPIS

This month's "How To" provides several ways our community can get involved and empower Asian American and Pacific Islanders. In this video, you will find a base level introduction into finding out different ways on supporting the AAPI community and address the violence against Asian Americans.

This video is by no means an exhaustive and complete list of everything you can do to support the Asian American community.

Other ways you can help:

  • Report incidents of hate to Asian Americans Advancing Justice's Stand Against Hated reporting system here.

  • OCA's National Hate Incident Reporting Form can be found here.

  • For a list of legal resources, national Asian Pacific American advocacy groups, hate crime statistics, and more, visit the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association's website for their list of Hate Crime Resources

  • For an extensive list of various historical materials, Asian American press guidelines, bystander trainings, brief overview of anti-Asian policies and much more, download this Asian American Day of Action toolkit and see how you can help the Asian American community and spread the word.

APAICS Eastern Regional

Leadership Academy Rescheduled

To our APAICS supporters, we will be rescheduling our 2021 Eastern Regional Leadership Academy to June 11-12, 2021. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support. It is our hope you all will be able to join us later this summer!

As a reminder, our Eastern Regional Leadership Academy invites Asian American and Pacific Islanders interested in running for public office in the eastern seaboard region of the United States to join us for a 2-day training. The training will cover campaign planning, fundraising, and online communications. Whether you're considering elected office in the future or filing for candidacy now, sign up to meet campaign experts and other AAPIs running for public office. Now more than ever, we need Asian American and Pacific Islanders to represent our communities in our government.
