WASHINGTON - Yesterday, the White House released its National Strategy to Advance Equity, Justice, and Opportunity for Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AA & NH/PI) Communities. This groundbreaking report includes the White House Initiative on AAs and NH/PIs (WHIAANHPI)’s report and action plans from 32 federal agencies.
APAICS president & CEO Madalene Xuan-Trang Mielke released the following statement:
“We applaud the tremendous work that WHIAANHPI and the Biden-Harris administration has achieved over the past two years. Since the founding of APAICS, we have urged presidential administrations for representation within and elevation of the issues that affect AAs & NH/PIs.
“We are thrilled that the Biden-Harris administration has raised the visibility of AAs & NH/PIs, and have outlined action plans with community input toward equity, justice and opportunity. The commitment to address some of the largest issues in our communities, including anti-Asian hate, data disaggregation, investment in communities and workforce diversity is a tremendous step in the right direction. We look forward to working with the White House to continue to elevate all of our communities.”
