Tariq is best known for his thought leadership, leading marketing initiatives
while creating the business case for diversity and inclusion. Throughout his distinguished twenty-year career, he held senior management roles at global Fortune companies including MetLife, Nationwide, and ING. In his last corporate position, Tariq was senior vice president and head of market development for ING, where he created and implemented their innovative strategy to expand into growing emerging markets.
Tariq has traveled around the globe and has developed, supported, and managed the largest and most diverse sales force in the financial services industry. He developed several award winning marketing and branding campaigns, including groundbreaking programs for the African American, Asian, Hispanic, and Women’s markets.
Tariq has made equally impressive contributions in the non-profit area. He serves on several prestigious boards including the Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, the Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) and the National Association of Asian MBA (NAAMBAA). Tariq is also a member of the board of directors of Stratford University.
In addition to being the CEO of Global Diversity Marketing, Inc., Tariq is also an adjunct professor of marketing and public relations, teaching graduate courses at New York University. Tariq holds a bachelor’s degree in international marketing and advertising from Baruch College, an MBA in marketing and management from St. John’s University and an Executive Management Certificate from Babson College. Tariq has spoken at many industry conferences on leadership, diversity and inclusion, cultural competency, connecting with millennials, social media trending and disruption around the globe.
