Chefs Stopping AAPI Hate (CSAH)
Community Leadership Achievement Awardee

Founded by award-winning chefs Tim Ma and Kevin Tien, Chefs Stopping AAPI Hate (CSAH) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that brings together the culinary world to empower AAPI communities and fight for social justice around the world.
Originating in the spring of 2021 to raise awareness and funds for victims of anti-Asian violence in the United States, CSAH has since brought together more than 100 chefs and rallied community support to raise over $500k for AAPI solidarity, systemic inequality, and emergency crises worldwide. In 2022, CSAH launched the Storefront Emergency Fund to support small business owners suffering from vandalism, targeted racism, and recently expanded the program to cover immigration bond expenses for vulnerable restaurant workers. In 2023, Washington D.C. mayor, Muriel Bowser, awarded CSAH the Mayor's Community Service Award. Chefs Tim Ma and Kevin Tien were each honored for their work with the Congressional Recognition for Outstanding Achievement presented by Rep. Judy Chu (CA) and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. CSAH was recognized in Washingtonian’s list of “100 Reasons to Love our Fierce Food Scene” and Good Morning America’s GMA Inspiration List.
