Dian Herrman

Dian brings more than 10 years of compliance expertise. In her former role as a compliance analyst, Dian managed a portfolio of more than a billion dollars worth of government spending. Dian has extensive knowledge in developing and maintaining program oversight and coordinating with a multitude of government agencies. Her work has included system improvements across District agencies, overseeing agency-wide training related to the District's Small Business Enterprise law, workflow analysis and the implementation of major District initiatives-which included taking lead in drafting the District's first legislation for sports wagering as it relates to small businesses.

Prior to working for the District, Dian served as AFSCMEs strategic communications advisor advocating on behalf of working-class families. Dian participated in the daily operations of childcare and health care campaigns. She managed more than 20 organizing campaigns focused on the mid-western region. She also served as a political strategist during the AFSCME/Obama-Biden campaign. In this role, she was the lead for voter protection in the Cleveland region, staffing attorneys and training volunteers. Before AFSCME, Dian was the Deputy Communications Director at the Maryland Democratic Party.

Dian holds a B.A. in Anthropology and a J.D. She currently serves as a mentor to children who are in foster care through the D.C. Family Youth Initiative.
