APAICS Applauds Selection of President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders
WASHINGTON - Today, President Biden announced the initial slate of commissioners for the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
“We applaud the Biden-Harris Administration in selecting a well-qualified group of commissioners to advise the White House on issues of importance for our communities,” said Madalene Xuan-Trang Mielke, APAICS president and CEO. The Commission is crucial to ensuring that our community is heard within the highest levels of the executive branch, and in making certain that different viewpoints from a multitude of backgrounds are considered when taking federal action to combat key issues.
“Advancing equity and addressing anti-Asian hate will be key components of the Commission’s purview, and after reviewing the impressive group of individuals that was announced today, we’re confident our community will be represented effectively.”
