The Hon. Sam Cho

Sam Cho is a Commissioner of the Port of Seattle. He was elected to the Port Commission in 2019 and became Commission President in 2023. He is the youngest and first person of color to become Commission President since the founding of the Port in 1911. His priorities as a commissioner include creating economic opportunity, promoting environmental sustainability, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ending human trafficking at the port.
Immediately before his election to the Port, Commissioner Cho was the founder and CEO of Seven Seas Export, an international trading company that exported over 2.5 million pounds of eggs products to various countries throughout the Asia-Pacific.
Commissioner Cho proudly started his post-graduate school career as an APAICS Fellow in Class of 2014. He served in the Office of Congressman Ami Bera (CA-D-7) and immediately went on to receive a political appointment in the Obama Administration as a Special Assistant in the Office of the Administrator at the US General Services Administration. Prior to his graduate studies, Commissioner Cho was an analyst at the US Department of State.
Commissioner Cho earned his Master of Science from The London School of Economics and his Bachelor of Arts at the American University.
