Jacob Aki

National Advisory Council Member

Jacob Aki serves as the Senior Public Affairs Manager for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, where he leads state and local government affairs strategies across Hawaiʻi and the Pacific region. With nearly a decade of senior-level experience in the Hawaiʻi State Senate, Jacob is a trusted strategist in legislative affairs, political communications, and stakeholder engagement.

He is widely recognized for his leadership within the Native Hawaiian community. Jacob has held prominent roles in respected cultural and civic organizations, including the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs and Hale O Nā Aliʻi O Hawaiʻi, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement. His work is grounded in a lifelong commitment to cultural preservation, community empowerment, and service that uplifts Hawaiʻi’s people.

Beyond Hawaiʻi, Jacob advocates nationally for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community. He serves on the Board of the Asian American Action (AAA) Fund and as a member of the Sanctuary Advisory Council for the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa—advancing AANHPI representation in public policy, environmental stewardship, and civic engagement.

Jacob is a proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools. He earned his B.A. in Hawaiian Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a master’s degree in Political Management from The George Washington University. In 2024, he was honored as one of Pacific Business News’ “40 Under 40” for his leadership and impact across Hawaiʻi.

He currently lives in Honolulu with his wife and two children.
