

Deriece Harrington
National Advisory Council Member
Deriece K. Harrington, MPA, is a highly accomplished government
affairs executive and civic leader, distinguished by more than
fifteen years of impactful experience in public policy, stakeholder
engagement, and advocacy. As the Director of Government Affairs
and Corporate Citizenship at PepsiCo, Deriece is responsible for
spearheading state and local government relations across the Mid-
Atlantic and part of the Northeast regions, while also overseeing
strategic engagement with influential national organizations. Her
extensive expertise encompasses regulatory strategy, external affairs, and the development
of cross-sector partnerships that advance PepsiCo’s objectives.
Throughout her career, Deriece has held critical leadership positions, including Executive
Director of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland, Vice President of Government Affairs
for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and Deputy Executive Director of the National
Black Caucus of State Legislators. She is widely recognized for her visionary leadership in
advancing Black and AAPI engagement strategies, orchestrating high-level policy
convenings, and serving on prominent boards such as the Asian Pacific American Institute
for Congressional Studies, A Wider Circle, and the African American Mayors Association’s
Business Council.
A triple-positive breast cancer survivor, Deriece channels her resilience and passion into
fierce advocacy for access, equity, and culturally competent care. She is deeply committed
to mentoring patients, serving as a Patient Advocate for inclusive medical research, and
collaborating with health organizations to address disparities and uplift underrepresented
communities.
In addition to her professional achievements, Deriece is the Founder and Chair of We S.E.E.
You, an organization dedicated to supporting, elevating, and empowering underrepresented
communities. Her steadfast leadership and advocacy have garnered numerous prestigious
accolades, including The Daily Record’s Leading Women in Maryland, Top 40 Under 40, and
the Living Classrooms Foundation’s Rising Star Award, among others.
Originally from Jamaica, New York, Deriece now resides in Southern Maryland with her
husband and daughters. In her personal time, she enjoys immersing herself in audiobooks,
home improvement shows, and traveling with her family, continually drawing inspiration
from both her professional and personal journeys.
