About the Event

Reports of hate crimes and violence against Asian Americans have made headlines across the United States in the past year, prompting calls to increase the community’s visibility to combat negative stereotypes and misconceptions.  In the midst of these political and cultural developments, a Pew Research Center analysis of more than five years of congressional social media activity finds that lawmakers are increasingly mentioning Asian Americans on Facebook and Twitter.  Join APAICS and Sono Shah, lead author, from Pew Research as we discuss how members of Congress discuss Asian Americans on social media.
