Mario Salazar

Mario Salazar is a Principal, Public Policy at Amazon, where he leads work on state and local competition policy issues. Prior to joining Amazon, he served as Executive Director of Public Policy at Comcast NBCUniversal and previously held Vice President roles at Burson and APCO, where he led public policy and advocacy campaigns for leading trade associations, corporations, and issue organizations.

Earlier in his career, Mario spent nearly a decade working on electoral and public affairs campaigns, including President Obama's historic 2008 and 2012 campaigns, as well as efforts for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senator Mark Warner, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the American Petroleum Institute.

Mario also serves on the Board of the National Asian Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE). He earned a BS from Cornell University, a JD from New York Law School, an ALM from Harvard University, and an MBA from Duke University. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Alabama. Mario lives in Maryland with his wife, Bethany, and their three dogs.
