Kai is a Senior Manager, Public Policy, leading Amazon’s labor and employment, benefits, and immigration advocacy before Congress and the administration. He started at Amazon in 2019.
Prior to Amazon, Kai was Senior Government Affairs Rep at Caterpillar, Inc. in Washington, D.C. where he led the manufacturer’s advocacy on a variety of priorities, including labor and healthcare issues. Kai also served as Labor Counsel for the Senate HELP Committee under Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY) and Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN). He has also worked for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
Kai graduated from American University Law School in Washington, D.C. with an LL.M. in Administrative and Regulatory Law He earned a J.D. from Gonzaga Law School and undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Seattle (Go Dawgs!). Kai and his wife Sarah, have two sons and live in Maryland.
