Kathy Ong Sisolak

Co-Founder and Director, Hobbs, Ong & Associates, Inc. & First Lady of Nevada

Katherine Ong Sisolak is co-founder and Director of Hobbs, Ong & Associates, Inc., a financial consulting firm established in 1996, specializing in local government financial advisory support. Since founding the firm, her experience includes client relations and related debt issuance matters. Ms. Sisolak’s areas of emphasis include financial advisory services, assisting municipal issuers in obtaining approximately $35 billion in tax-exempt financing.


Ms. Sisolak’s municipal finance experience includes eight years as the Budget Manager for Clark County, Nevada, where she directed the preparation, implementation, and control of Clark County’s then $1.8 billion annual budget. She administered the planning and implementation of financing strategies for capital projects and debt service funds, trust funds, enterprise funds, and the general fund. She also has experience in the preparation of fiscal impact analyses, feasibility studies and legislative strategies.


Mrs. Sisolak was also on the Board of Directors of Employers Holdings, Inc. She retired from the Board in 2018. She was initially appointed to Employers Insurance Company of Nevada (formally the Nevada State Industrial Insurance System) by Governor Kenny Guinn. Subsequently, Employers completed an initial public offering and converted the policyholder members to a Nevada stock corporation and is listed on the NYSE under the ticker symbol EIG. She was also the Chair of the Board of the Nevada Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS). She was appointed to the Nevada PERS Board by Governor Sandoval on July 1, 2011. She retired from the PERS Board in 2019.


Ms. Sisolak received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with an emphasis in Finance.
