Jean Lee

Jean Lee is a partner in Allen & Overy’s Global Projects, Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure group and co-leads the firm’s Agency Finance practice in Washington. She recently spent several years in A&O’s Seoul office, which she helped open in 2015, and upon her return to the US served as managing partner of the firm’s Washington office from 2020-2022.

With over 20 years of experience in private practice, Jean has represented agency and commercial lenders, as well as sponsors and other stakeholders, in complex project financings around the globe in a variety of sectors. She also served as internal counsel at a global solar energy services company, where she focused on expanding the company’s operations outside the United States. Jean is ranked Band 1 for Agency Financing by Chambers USA 2020-2022 and was named ‘Woman Lawyer of the Year’ by Asian Legal Business Korea Awards in 2017. She is actively involved in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at A&O and serves on the steering committees of the firm’s Asian Affinity Network and Women’s Committee.

Jean received her JD from Georgetown University Law Center and her BA from Dartmouth College.
