Heejin graduated from Georgetown University (COL’ 20) where she majored in Women and Gender Studies and developed a passion for issues at the intersection of race and gender.
Outside the classroom, she co-founded the Georgetown University Asian Pacific Islander Leadership Forum (APILF) to educate and mobilize AAPI students for greater racial equity on campus.
In 2019 APILF created the first Asian American residential space at Georgetown to serve as a hub for AAPI community building and organizing. As one of the founding residents, Heejin organized educational events on AAPI issues and facilitated dialogues on racial and ethnic identity.
Her time as a student organizer confirmed her passion for Asian American political engagement and brought her to APAICS as a Programs Assistant.
