Christian Von Rotz

Racial Equity Social Justice Fellow

Office of Congressman Bobby Scott

Christian grew up in Modesto, California. After high school, he moved to Washington D.C. and attained a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies with a minor in Political Science at American University.

Upon graduating, he began working on campaigns in North Carolina as a Field Organizer. There he worked to help drive voter turnout by leading phone banks targeting undecided voters. After the general election Christian then worked in Georgia for the Senate Runoff elections, where he organized in a predominantly AAPI area of Decatur. After the Run-off, Christian began working in Virginia for House Delegate Rodney Willett (HD-73). There, Christian was able to focus on planning community events such as, phone banks to help constituents find vaccination opportunities. Shortly after the primary election, Christian worked for House Delegate Wendy Gooditis (HD-10). While there Christian pivoted to focus on voter turnout. He worked with local and regional grassroots organizations, and recruited over 250 volunteers. Through his career on campaigns, Christian cultivated his passion for community service, grassroots politics, and fighting for tangible change that people can see in their daily lives.

Christian seeks out a career in public service in order to advocate for marginalized communities, and help create equitable access to healthcare, education, and opportunity for all. After working for over a year as a Field Organizer, talking directly to voters on the issues and what matters to them when deciding their representatives, Christian is excited to bring that experience and energy to policymaking and Capitol Hill.
