PRESIDENT AND CEO 

The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to serve as the President and CEO.  The President and CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board and is responsible for directing APAICS’ mission, fundraising, and programs. 

The President and CEO will oversee a staff, an operating budget and is responsible for developing and implementing fund-raising programs to support APAICS’ mission as well as community outreach. 

 DESCRIPTION:

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of the organization
  • Identifies areas for fundraising programs for Board approval and the ability to raise funds to operate the organization
  • Oversees budget development
  • Program management and development
  • Knowledge in management, marketing, promotional skills, finance/accounting, leadership, organization, oral and written communications, ability to plan organization-wide activities, develop policies and procedures
  • Community outreach especially in Asian Pacific American (APA) organizations
  • Knowledge about the Congress and political structure as well as knowledge about the APA members of Congress

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree related field and/or at least five (5) years experience in a related field, at least three (3) of which must be in a supervisory capacity or executive level experience.
  • Demonstrate competency across a broad range of managerial functions
  • Awareness and experienced in dealing with political, social and cultural dynamics (track record similar work – for example, meetings with members of Congress or senior level officials would be helpful.)
  • Proven track record at fundraising
  • Very strong written and oral communications skills

 OTHER:

  • Must be knowledgeable about strategic planning and program development
  • Have vision, direction, leadership
  • Merges annual program priorities and funding necessary to implement programs and sets timelines.

 COMPENSATION: 

  • Commensurate to budget and experience
  • Locate to Washington, D.C., or metropolitan area
  • Fulltime
