Cindy’s story is the quintessential American story. After arriving at SeaTac airport over 40 years ago from South Korea, via Brunei and Philippines, Cindy had little more to support her than her family and an uncompromising work ethic. But Cindy believed in the American Dream and knew that access to a quality public education and an opportunity to work hard and earn a living wage is what it takes to help families achieve their own American Dream.
As a successful business owner and Mayor of Shoreline 2008-2009, Cindy is the kind of experienced leader the 32nd District has come to expect—a leader who will build bridges and ensure we bring fiscal responsibility and accountability back to state government.
Cindy’s priorities are your priorities: investing in and improving education for our children, creating jobs and economic opportunity, and protecting our neighborhoods and environment.
BUILDING BRIDGES, DELIVERING RESULTS
With experience both as a small business owner and in the public sector, Cindy is able to bring a collaborative, results-oriented approach to elected office. As Shoreline City Councilmember and Mayor, Cindy built bridges among diverse constituents and delivered results by:
* Bridging soured relationships between the City and the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, leading the way for the adoption of the Economic Development and Strategic Plan.
* Reinvigorating Aurora in an environmentally sustainable, business-friendly way.
* Leading the adoption of the Comprehensive Housing Strategy recommended by a community-based Citizen Advisory Committee.
* As the President and board member of Dollars for Scholars, Shoreline Chamber Chapter, over the past 4 years helping raise funds and awarding scholarships to more than 4 dozen local scholars.
* As the President of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce 2005 – 2006, as a manager of local commercial retail spaces, and as a small business owner in North King County for over 20 years, Cindy understood and promoted commerce in North King County and South Snohomish County. Cindy provided effective representation for small business owners and workers.
BUILDING SUPPORT, GENERATING MOMENTUM
Cindy’s campaign is generating support and enthusiasm from a broad coalition of community leaders, organizations, and residents across the 32nd Legislative District. In addition to the recent, unanimous endorsement by the King County Democrats, Cindy has also received the enthusiastic support of the King County, Snohomish County, and WA State Labor Councils, and the MAH Chapter of WA Federation of Democratic Women. Cindy is the Nominee of the 32nd Legislative District Democrats.
Cindy has emerged as the front runner in this race, but in order to send Cindy to Olympia, to represent OUR values, we need your support of donation of funds, volunteering 3 hours per week, talking to your neighbors and friends about Cindy, and making sure every vote counts.
