Thao Nguyen

Bio

Thao Nguyen was the 2010-2011 APAICS - National Association of Realtors Housing Policy Fellow in the Office of Representative Al Green (D-TX-09).  In this role, she managed a policy portfolio that included housing, environment, transportation, foreign affairs (East Asia), and small business issues. She also assisted the Congressman as a liaison to the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. In addition to her portfolio on policy issues, she had worked on a number of legislative projects that included managing several of Representative Green’s bills.

Prior to Thao’s fellowship with APAICS, she focused largely on community and economic development. She held positions with Napa Valley Community Housing, Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation with an emphasis on affordable housing. 

Thao received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego.  Thao was born and raised in Napa, California.

Washington, DC—On Tuesday, five new Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) leaders were elected to serve in the 113th United States Congress, with one race too close to call.
