APAICS Congratulates new Asian American and Pacific Islander Members of 113th US Congress
Washington, DC—On Tuesday, five new Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) leaders were elected to serve in the 113th United States Congress, with one race too close to call. The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) congratulates all the candidates who ran this historic cycle, and celebrates the victories of the winners as they prepare to serve in their new leadership roles:
- Senator-elect Mazie Hirono (HI)
- Representative-elect Tammy Duckworth (IL-08)
- Representative-elect Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02)
- Representative-elect Grace Meng (NY-06)
- Representative-elect Mark Takano (CA-41)

Tri-Caucus Leaders Join APAICS in Welcoming New Class of Summer Interns
Washington, D.C. - On June 13, 2011, the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) hosted a reception with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) welcoming to Washington DC the approximately 100 interns hosted by the three organizations this summer. APAICS Celebrated 17 Years of Asian American and Pacific Islander Community Empowerment
Washington DC - On May 4, 2011, the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) hosted its 17th Annual Gala Awards Dinner in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, which was the culmination of a day-long leadership symposium on May 3.
