Biography

Sam holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics and a masters degree in business administration. He and his wife, Joanne, have been married 28 years and have two grown children, a son, Chris, and a daughter, Melissa. He has worked for SBC/Pacific Bell for 26 years and previously owned a small business for 13 years. Sam and his family have lived in Fountain Valley for 21 years and his children attended Fountain Valley schools. During that time he volunteered for many youth and service organizations, including AYSO, Fountain Valley Little League, Little Miss Softball, Moiola PTA, Talbert PTO, Fountain Valley High School PTSA, the Fountain Valley High School Band Boosters, and the Fountain Valley Educational Foundation. Through his church he also been involved with many community improvement projects.

Sam was appointed to the Fountain Valley City Council in 2001 and served through 2002. During his term he was the representative to the Advisory Committee to the Disabled, the Legislative Committee and the Interjurisdictionial Planning Forum. Prior to his appointment to the city council, he served on the Fountain Valley Housing and Community Development Committee for two terms, one as the vice chairman.
