2010-2011: Office of Rep. Judy Chu

Morna Ha is currently the Executive Director of the National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC).  She was the 2010-2011 Walmart/George R. Ariyoshi APAICS Fellow placed with the Office of Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-32). She handled Rep. Chu's housing and social security issues and assisted with immigration, civil rights, and health care issues.  Morna also assisted with Rep. Chu's work with the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.  

Prior to the Fellowship, she has had broad-based experience in non-profit, city government, and locally-driven initiatives.  She served as the National Organizing Coordinator for the National Korean American Service and Education Consortium working to advance immigration reform and broaden immigrant student access to education through advocacy and organizing.   As part of her masters thesis, she worked with the Mayor's Office of Operations to examine effective accounts receivable management for the City of New York. She has also worked with communities in New Orleans, LA and in the Mississippi Delta to derive and execute community development projects.  

Morna received a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School where she was a Senior Editor of the Asian American Policy Review and Co-Chair of the Asian Pacific American Caucus.  She received a BA in History from Dartmouth College.
