Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies
APAICS Gala 2008:
APAICS thanks the sponsors and attendees of the 14th Annual Gala. Thank you for your support!
The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies is dedicated to ensuring the participation and success of Asian Pacific Americans in government at the national, state, and local levels. Founded in 1995, APAICS was created to promote, support, and conduct non-partisan education and informational activities, research, and programs designed to effectively enhance and increase the participation of the Asian Pacific Islander American community in the democratic process. To this end, APAICS supports a variety of programs, including fellowships and summer internships that place college students in Congress, federal agencies, or the APAICS office itself. APAICS, in conjunction with the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, also publishes the National Asian Pacific American Political Almanac, a collection of information and contacts for the growing number of APA elected officials.
Be sure to save the date for the 15th Annual APAICS Gala Celebration to be held May 19, 2009 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC!
