Is APAICS an advocacy organization?
No, APAICS does no advocacy. APAICS is focused purely on educating the APA community about political involvement. APAICS seeks to provide the trainings necessary for the APA community to be in the forefront of American Democracy.
How is APAICS funded?
The Institute's programs and operations are funded by corporations, foundations and individuals. Since its creation, although permitted by law, the Institute does not accept contributions from foreign governments or foreign corporations as a matter of policy.
Is APAICS a membership organization?
No, interested individuals should contact the APAICS office at 202-296-9200 or email us
with your contact information so that we can add you to our events list and our email
listserve. Please e-mail apaics@apaics.org to be added to the listserve.
What are APAICS' major events?
APAICS is involved in a variety of activities, most notably our Summer Internship program for undergraduates and recent graduates, and the Fellowship programs for graduate students. In addition, we host an annual Leadership Academy and Annual Gala in order to increase the quality of our leaders in understanding the needs of the APIA community.
What is the relationship between APAICS and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus?
APAICS and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) are two separate entities. APAICS was created by Asian Pacific American Members of Congress and other APA community leaders as an organization to build the political pipeline at all levels.
