Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies
APAICS has sponsored the Congressional Fellows Program in the past with generous funding from State Farm Insurance. The Congressional Fellows Program seeks to allow elected APIA officals in various areas throughout the country to shadow a member of Congress for a period ranging from one to three weeks. With this experience, the APIA-elected official and the member of Congress are able to build a mutually beneficial relationship, bridging the gap between local and federal government in a manner especially important for the APIA community.
There have thus far been two classes of Congressional Fellows:
2003-2004 Congressional Fellows
The Honorable Michael S. Chang (D)
The Honorable Upendra J. Chivukula (D)
The Honorable Hoon-Yung Hopgood (D)
The Honorable Scott Kawasaki (D)
The Honorable Susan C. Lee (D)
The Honorable Parag P. Patel (D)
